The State Benefits & Assistance Program provides financial support, healthcare access, and emergency resources to eligible residents. Learn about eligibility requirements, how to apply, and what documents you will need.

Eligibility Requirements

To qualify for the Benefits & Assistance Program, applicants must meet all of the following criteria. If you are unsure whether you qualify, contact our eligibility specialists for a free consultation.

State Residency
Must be a current resident of the State for at least 90 days
Income Threshold
Household income at or below 200% of the Federal Poverty Level
Age Requirement
Applicant must be 18 years of age or older
Citizenship/Immigration Status
U.S. citizen or qualified non-citizen with eligible immigration status
Asset Limits
Countable assets must not exceed $3,000 for individuals ($5,000 for families)
Program Participation
Not currently enrolled in a conflicting federal assistance program
Special Circumstances

Individuals experiencing homelessness, domestic violence survivors, or those recently released from incarceration may qualify under modified eligibility criteria. Contact our office for case-by-case evaluation.

How to Apply

The application process takes approximately 20–30 minutes to complete online. You may save your progress and return at any time within 30 days.

    Create a secure account using your email address and a strong password, or sign in if you already have an account. Your information is encrypted and protected.

    Complete the Online Application
    ~15 min

    Fill out all required fields in the application form. The form includes inline validation and helpful tooltips. You can save and return at any time.

    Upload Supporting Documents
    ~5 min

    Upload digital copies of your required documents. Accepted formats: PDF, JPG, PNG. Maximum file size: 10 MB per document.

    Submit and Track Your Application
    ~2 min

    Review your application for accuracy, then submit. You will receive a confirmation email with your application number. Track your status online at any time.

Required Documents

You must provide the following documents with your application. Originals are not required — clear digital copies are accepted.

Proof of Identity
  • State-issued driver's license or ID card
  • U.S. Passport or Passport Card
  • Military ID (active duty or veteran)
Proof of Residency
  • Utility bill (within last 60 days)
  • Lease or mortgage agreement
  • Official mail from a government agency
Proof of Income
  • Last 3 pay stubs or employer letter
  • Most recent federal tax return (Form 1040)
  • Social Security award letter (if applicable)
Additional Documents (if applicable)
  • Birth certificates for dependent children
  • Immigration documents (Form I-551, I-94, or EAD)
  • Disability documentation from a licensed physician
